I became a trainee glassmaker back in 2004 after completing my BA Fine Art at Derby University. Glassmaking wasn’t something that I had ever imagined I would do but I loved it! It was a very rewarding job and I particularly enjoyed designing and making my own range of paperweights. Unfortunately however, after being made redundant twice from the same position in four years, I decided that I needed a more secure career and I moved into pastoral support within education settings. Whilst on maternity leave back in 2013, we decided that it would make more sense for us as a family, if I were to work from home as company secretary for my partner’s electrical company; while looking after our little girl Myha. Three years on and expecting our second child, Emmy, I decided that I wanted to get back to my creative side; and so Fused was born in October 2015!
Since conception, Fused has grown from fused glass and sterling silver jewellery alone, to include a range of silver plated hair accessories, rings, cufflinks and earrings, framed pictures, and gifts. I hope it will continue to expand and develop. The full range can be seen at local craft fairs and boutique shopping events; follow Fused on Facebook and join our mailing list to keep informed of upcoming dates and new products.
