I became a trainee glassmaker back in 2004 after completing my BA Fine Art at Derby University. Glassmaking wasn’t something that I had ever imagined I would do but I loved it! It was a very rewarding job and I particularly enjoyed designing and making my own range of paperweights. Unfortunately however, after being made redundant twice from the same position in five years, I decided that I needed a more secure career and I moved into pastoral support within education settings. Whilst on maternity leave back in 2013, we decided that it would make more sense for us as a family, if I were to work from home as company secretary for my partner’s electrical company; while looking after our little girl Myha. Three years on and expecting our second child, Emmy, I decided that I wanted to get back to my creative side; and so Fused was born in October 2015!
Since conception, Fused has grown from fused glass and sterling silver jewellery alone, to include a range of framed pictures, silver plated jewellery, hair accessories, cufflinks, and gifts. I hope it will continue to expand and develop in the future. Fused can be found on Folksy, at Jane’s Coffee Corner, (East Rudham), local craft fairs and boutique shopping events. Follow Fused on Facebook and join our mailing list to keep informed of upcoming dates and new products.
